Role Summary/Purpose

Lead the accounting function for technology start up under direction of the CFO. Position will be responsibility for accounting processes, policy and complete account cycle including month end close, financial statement preparation, audits, accounting systems, and other projects as assigned.

Essential Responsibilities

Support the CFO and management with all aspects of Company’s accounting functions.  Lead all accounting tasks to ensure (a) compliance with GAAP, (b) accuracy as judged by the annual audit and (c) complete and informative internal and external financial reporting.

Month-end close process:

  • Process journal entries including application of trend/flux analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of the trial balance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and any external reporting requirements (i.e., banks, investors, etc.).
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations.
  • Prepare/review month monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure the financial data is accurately stated.
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and any external reporting requirements (i.e., banks, investors, etc.).
  • Financial Statement Preparation and Maintenance:
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and analyses for management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve accounting and financial reporting issues.
  • Serve as the lead or key contributor for the completion of the annual audit and tax filings.
  • Upgrade and maintain existing processes and tools to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial statements.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Manage inventory tracking, costing and related COGS/BOM variance reporting.
  • Provide accounting and financial analysis support and expertise to other departments within the organization.
  • Collaborate with team members throughout the organization to proactively drive improvements, positive change, and viable solutions for any accounting, reporting and analytical needs.
  • Actively promote the adherence to internal controls and relevant regulatory or contractual requirements
  • Lead initiatives to address the development and maintenance of accounting policies and controls, compliant with standards of effective internal controls as required.
  • Interface with internal and external customers to ensure accurate accounting of transactions
  • Co-lead the annual budgeting process.
  • Lead the administration of the ERP system (Netsuite).
  • Other projects and/or research, as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of corporate accounting experience
  • Deep experience maintaining the inventory subledger in a manufacturing company.
  • ERP expertise (ideally Netsuite)
  • Ability and experience to independently analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Capable of managing a broad range of activities that may require multi-tasking.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including MS Excel skills.
  • Strong work ethic with attention to detail and the ability to meet dedicated timelines of deliverables.
  • High standards that embrace and contribute to cohesive teamwork and a professional environment.
  • Good communication skills.

Pay Range

$125,000-135,000
