Role summary and purpose:

  • Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, you will provide human resource management and direction in partnership with the Menlo Microsystems leadership team.
  • You will lead the development and implementation of the organization’s human resource and talent strategy as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, compensation, talent development, organization design and succession planning.

You will:

  • Provide support and guidance to senior management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise. You will be required to administer and execute responsibilities in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, policy violations and terminations.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborating with functional managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; researching and proposing competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Act as a consultant to managers and staff regarding policies and procedures and overseeing employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Monitor HR metrics and developing and reporting key performance metrics as they relate to overall business strategy.
  • Develop and deploy HR policies and processes aligned with regulatory requirements and business strategy.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviewing policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • We work with companies that are subject to International Trade in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Therefore, to meet the basic qualification for this role, you will be a "U.S. Person," -- a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US (green card holder) or a member of a narrowly defined category of protected individuals. 

To be a good fit for the Human Resources Manager opportunity, you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; MBA or graduate degree is desired; Human Resources certification(s) are a plus.
  • 3-5+ years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • 4+ years’ experience in a high technology industry.
  • Experience working with a highly technical, professional workforce.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and related software.
  • Ability to travel domestically.

Specific experience in at least three of the following areas:

  • Talent acquisition
  • Compensation
  • Employee relations
  • Training & talent development
  • Mergers/acquisitions

Preferred, not required, qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a start-up or high-growth business.
  • Previous involvement in managing third-party systems and service providers.
  • Specific knowledge/experience in the semiconductor, electronic component, or medical device business.
