Role Summary and Purpose

Reporting to the SVP Quality Assurance, the Sr. Quality Engineer will be responsible for overseeing internal quality and customer quality related activities. You will be responsible for driving Quality improvements and issue resolution from root cause analysis to countermeasure implementation on Menlo Micro's MEMS components.

Some key responsibilities will include:

  • Defining Quality requirements for Menlo products.
  • Interfacing with other functions within Menlo to understand necessary product details and ensure quality of products shipped to customers.
  • Creating and updating procedures to ensure quality of the products and processes.
  • Using analytical tools and techniques including electrical probing, X-Ray, microscopic inspection, cross-sectioning, thermography, and functional testing to debug failing units.
  • Designing and executing experiments and testing theories.
  • Leading ISO 9001 audits.
  • Supporting customers on RMA’s and driving internal investigations and CAPA’s using 8D methodology.
  • Interfacing with multiple contacts and teams including customers, suppliers, R&D, Operations and Applications; to drive resolution to the problems you have identified.
  • Supporting Change Management reviews and ECN’s
  • Leading FMEAs.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be a good fit for the Sr. Quality Engineer opportunity, you will have:

  • A bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or another job-relevant field.
  • 7 - 10 years of quality engineering experience.
  • Experience managing product, subcontractor, and customer quality.
  • Led internal and external ISO-9001 audits
  • Experience with qualification testing based on microelectronics industry standards (JEDEC, MIL standards)
  • Led 8D investigations and report writing.
  • Familiarity with basic failure analysis techniques including probe stations, cross-sectioning, SEM, EDS, and IR thermography.
  • Strong statistical skills, hypothesis testing, sampling distributions, LTPD, Weibull statistics, etc.
  • Some exposure to RF/Power electronics technology a plus.

  • Strong communication skills, including storytelling with PowerPoint and 8D reports
  • Strong analytical skills with JMP/Excel, with the ability to present findings to Customers and Engineering teams.
  • A proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a small team environment and with Customers.
  • Ability to fill multiple roles as required in a small but fast growing start-up environment.
  • Good organization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities to meet goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have U.S. citizenship or permanent residence for ITAR compliance.
  • You also should plan on visiting local test labs about 25% of the time to guide and observe testing.

Pay Range

$120,000-130,000
